Ah.
Is it a one shot?
Or does it mean support=2.6.x (stable) and master=2.7.x (dev) from now on?

Is v2.6.20/21 the end of v2.6.x? Or will back-ports from v2.7.x continue?

Backports are not a big deal. Should any grave new issues surface up before regressions from switching to ffmpeg 3.3 and from updating the cross-build environment are sorted out, the support branch can be revived anytime.
