Title: (New) Avidemux not starting
Post by: jordboal on April 14, 2017, 11:18:36 AM
After updating my computer, including the video editor Avidemux, its last version doesn't work. It starts but it stops on a blank screen. You can see it on the attached file. How can I fix it?

The last (released) version is 2.6.19 and is Qt5 based, not Qt4. For now you could try

export QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE=fusion
avidemux3_qt4

for your ancient Avidemux version.

Actually Qt4 doesn't support the "fusion" theme, but back then the reason for such an issue was adwaita-qt4: http://avidemux.org/smif/index.php?topic=16742.0

I'm so sorry, eumagga0x2a, that I hadn't read your answers... -I hadn't received any alert about it on my email-. After weeks, right now I've searched about it on Internet and I've found that: "Looks like this hangup/blank window problem can be fixed by removing the package adwaita-qt4. See the rpmfusion bug 4035." I've done it with the terminal, although I'm not an expert in terminal, but my last version (yes, FC22!) has had updating problems since the installation, and I've got to update it with the terminal. As I said, I've removed this Avidemux package with the terminal and now the program starts well.
