Title: AC3 audio problem appear when I try to merge various MTS files with direct-strea
Post by: Truth555 on May 10, 2017, 06:21:45 PM
Hi!

AC3 audio problem appear when I try to merge various camcorder MTS files with direct-stream copy.

There is no sound In some parts of the united/merged video after I merge them with direct stream copy mode.

The audio remains in  th all segments of the united/merged video only if I transcode the recorded audio to an other codec.

It happen when I merge at least 3-4 videos.

Image of the Mediainfo about the recorded camcorder file: https://ibb.co/fPU9fk

Thank you for your reply!

Hello!
Yes, they were recorded with the same camcorder, they are original Canon cancorder files, there is only 1 audio  recording option on most camcorders.

Is there no sound in the whole of a particular segment or only near the segment's start/end?

Dan.

Please post the Avidemux log resulting from appending the source videos.

Hi!

I uploaded five original camcorder MTS files to the sendgb.com, all options in video and audio format are the same. The video is a progressive segmented frame video (read about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progressive_segmented_frame ) So you need to turn off the deinterlacer or automatic deinterlacer in your video player for  the optimal original picture quality.

Here you can download them: https://sendgb.com/pbd0H3nrvsq

After the merging of the video files in direct-stream-copy mode, some recording segments will have audio and some won't have audio in the unified new video file.

Try it yourself!

I used the X64 Windows version of Avidemux (2.7.0 Nightly).

Thank you for your reply!

What's the problem with a 1GB file, which contains five videos?

After the merging of the video files in direct-stream-copy mode, some recording segments will have audio and some won't have audio in the unified new video file.

Works for me using a Linux build from the current trunk (2.7.0), the merged video saved in copy mode has audio throughout its duration.

But it doesn't work on my newest Nightly x64 Windows version of Avidemux.

Have you built this win64 nightly yourself (which is pretty straightforward)? I'll retest with my own win64 build later.

No, it is an "official" Nightly from this Avidemux homepage.

Not everyone appreciates downloading 1 GB

I tested with a freshly compiled win64 private build now and couldn't reproduce the issue.

Yes it produce the problems in MKV output format, especially with longer videos. There are no problems with mp4 output format. Should I upload longer 4GB videos?

I merged the source videos during my testing into a single MKV container (actually I didn't try MP4 because I didn't expect the target container to matter) without any issues.
