Title: need filter for simple change output PAR
Post by: alexrayne on July 14, 2017, 09:47:10 PM
have video 1440*1080 4:3, and need to convert it to 16:9
At present i use YAMB tool, that allow specify PAR for output. look like it does not re-encode source, but rewrites PAR in key-frames. it is pretty fast.
it good to implement such plugin in avidemux

True. Only available in mkv configuration at the moment.

Same problem here: HDV camcorder produces m2ts files which Avidemux assumes is 4:3 PAR. I have been trying all sorts of tweaks to Sample Aspect Ratio in Configure/X264/Motion & Misc, all of which seem less than correct. Setting 'Custom' to 16:9 doesn't work like you would expect. Instead, it comes out as 2.35:1  :o

I am trying to produce highly compatible mp4 file output. By now someone must have figured out how to configure Avidemux for HDV files in a straightforward manner!?

Addendum: I used Handbrake to convert my m2ts files to mkv container but Avidemux once again assumed 4:3 PAR.

can you upload 10 seconds of
- original HDV camcorder .m2ts file.
- Handbrake converted 10 seconds mkv of above HDV camcorder .m2ts
- avidemux produced mp4 from that Handbrake produced mkv

What other steps you introduce in Avidemux, to produce highly compatible mp4 file output.

Perhaps a correct workflow can be worked out, or solution provided, if possible, for par in mp4 container.
