Win7 x64. No sound while playback in 2.7.1 itself (tried to open VOB, mkv, avi -> silence). No movement in the square at the bottom right. At the same time everything works fine in the version 2.6.12.

Are you sure you selected the win32 audio output and *not* the dummy one?
Finally google it. It's Edit --> Preferences --> Audio --> AudioDevice. Set to Win32 helped. Thank you.
