I am trying to open MP4 files as generated by a UniFi video recorder. After noticing a comment with the Windows binaries that "If it crashes after loading a video, disable openGl in preferences", I tried opening the files with openGL, DXVA2, SDL, and Qt with always the same error. I am running the portable version from portableapps.com which includes both the 32bit and 64bit version and runs the appropriate one depending on your system which in my case is Win10-64bit. Any ideas to get past this crash problem would be appreciated. The portable version of VirtualDub works fine with these MP4 files. I have attached the error message as a text file in case that helps.
Does that version work better ?

Yes - this version seems to work OK (at least it doesn't crash when I ask it to open the same MP4 file that crashed the other).
So thanks for that. Now I suppose, if I cared enough, I should find out if it is only the "portable apps" build of 2.71 (https://portableapps.com/apps/music_video/avidemux-portable) that crashed or whether an installed version would also crash? But having found something that works, I don't really feel like wasting any more time on it!
Thanks again

No, but a comparison with r190108 from https://avidemux.org/nightly/win64/ (either with installer as .exe or as without the installer as .zip) might be interesting.
