Title: Appending Resolution Issue
Post by: Ceyarrecks on July 29, 2019, 03:32:12 PM
Excuse me Please:

I am attempting to append a two-part video into one contiguous file, and receive some vague error about being unable to append and something about boarders, yet when I attempt to add top30&bottom 30 border to a 480x360 file to bring it up to the other file of 540x360, it yet remains 480x360.
I tried resize, same result, no change in resolution, but, the file DID become 3x larger in size /shrug.

any specific guidance on how to accomplish the resize or add border that does not take anything for granted would be greatly appreciated.

To get 540x360 from 480x360, you would need to add borders left and right, not top and bottom, and re-encode the video.

Which Avidemux version do you refer to? Since very long time filters are disabled when the codec is set to copy mode, exactly for the reason that people were adding filters and then saving in copy mode, while filters can be effective only when re-encoding.

As expected, an unsupported obsolete legacy version. May I ask, why? Why not the latest? 2.7.4 is due very soon.
