I have some MKV video files and I am attempting to trim the beginning and end of the video file.

Using Set start marker an Set end marker then Save Video (Copy, Copy, Mkv Muxer) works a treat - but it strips the subtitles.

Is it possible to retain the subtitles when you trim an MKV file?

Handling of subtitle tracks is not implemented in Avidemux. Patches welcome.

In that case, I'll use Mkv Cutter 20170625.
