Title: Basic questions - how to make Output Format stick & fill in name when saving?
Post by: iksleiwe on August 01, 2020, 01:57:58 PM
How can I make the Output Format stick?  I want it to be Mpeg-PS Muxer(ff), which seems to be the only one that works for me (that I can then play in vlc on my iPad).

Also, when Saving, there is NO filename put in the name field, and I can't even copy/paste from the Finder.  I wish (1) it put the original filename in (possibly suffix modified if appropriate), and (2) the save dialog supported paste.

Thanks

Edit --> Save current settings as default (Shift+Command+D)

...which is appropriate for DVD-type MPEG-2 video only.

Depends on the type of input video and codecs chosen.

Works fine for me. Do you use the latest release (2.7.6)? There haven't been any more current nightlies for macOS so far.

Quoteand I can't even copy/paste from the Finder.

This is a known issue of the Qt file dialog. Only the way by context menu works, not Command+V.

It actually works this way since a couple of years.

I fear, this is a Qt issue not addressable in Avidemux.
