Title: Video and subtitle synchronization
Post by: bartimeo on December 10, 2020, 05:46:33 PM
Hello, I have a movie with subtitles and it works. Then I made two cuts with Avidemux: one in the head and one in the tail and now the subtitles do not coincide with the video. With Avidemux, is it possible to modify to have the video and subtitles coincide again? It is possible to insert delays / advances of time. in the .srt file? Thanks

Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
Avidemux 2.7.6
VLC 3.0.8
Browser Firefox 82.0 64 bit
VideoDownloadhelper 7.3.9

No, you would need to use a subtitle editor like Aegisub for the task. I don't know whether it supports adding an offset to a multiple selection of subtitles though. Such a feature would help to speed up the process if available.

By all means, I would recommend to use a more current build than 2.7.6.

With Aegisub it works. By hand I counted the seconds of delay and then I inserted them in the time-shift. Then I refined the delay time to hundredths of a second. It works, thanks
