I'm currently using 2.7.6 on a Windows 32-bit host, and have a few suggestions:
1. Help > About dialog: Clickable URL to jump to site
2. Help > Check for update
3. Remove the empty Custom menu
4. General use: To slice a long file by removing useless parts, make it possible to build a list of several parts with buttons A/B, and slice+join+export all the parts as one file. Maybe it's just me, but it'd be more natural than removing parts I don't want one part at a time.

The Custom menu is empty because you haven't placed any project scripts in %appdata%\avidemux\custom directory yet. This menu provides directs access to such scripts, saving a couple of clicks.
