Title: Keyframe size (length)
Post by: TheInvoker on August 27, 2021, 10:56:28 AM
Hello
how can i reduce the length of the keyframes? i often cut video here and there and i use keyframes but the time between 2 keyframes is too long, usually 10s and i would like to set it to 3s
Is it possible?

What you mean is not reducing the length of keyframes but the maximum size of the GOP. All encoders for non-intra-only codecs support user-defined GOP sizes (within certain bounds). All you need is to re-encode the video stream using the setting which fits your needs.

If you already re-encode, you can cut at arbitrary frames.
