Can I crop a 60i video without re-encoding?

I've been a long user of Avidemux and have used it to primarily crop 30p videos without re-encoding.   This is fast and I don't lose any quality...that was perfect.

My new camera shoots 1080 60i, which I want to use over my old 1080 30p videos.

Avidemux loads the the 60i video just fine and plays it as well perfectly.  I can crop segments like usual.  I save (copy mode), but the resulting file pauses every second.

Is there a special setting I need to set for 60i video for copy mode?  Am I missing something obvious. Do I HAVE to de-interlace and re-enocde?  I really don't want to...but if I do, what is the best way to deinterlace and preserve quality?

For reference these are being shot with a Nikon AW120, .mov container and H264 codec.  My Avidemux version is 2.6.8.  Thanks in advance for any help anybody can provide.

"crop" means you want to cut borders of a video. I think what you mean is just removing some sections. I think you may use the wrong container. Try mp4v2.

Yeah, I mean remove sections.

Can you explain how to use a different container?

I've reinstalled Avidemux 2.6.8 so it is fresh "out of the box".

When I open my video and click on "Information" this is what Avidemux tells me:

Codec 4CC: H264
Image Size: 1920  1080
Aspect Ratio: 1:1
Frame Rate: 59.941 FPS
Total Duration: 00:00:12:012

Extra Video Properties
Extra Data Size: 43
...(the rest is audio info)

On the left hand side my settings are:

Video Decoder: Lavcodec
Video Output: Copy
Audio Output: Copy
Output Format: Avi Mixer

I've tried multiple video and they all (after cutting) briefly pause every second of playback.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!
