MP4 Sound Sync Issues

I'm trying to join 2 videos (MP4's) into 1 file.  The picture comes out fine, but the sound is out of sync with it.  I am only interested in MP4 (no other format).  Is there some way of adjusting the sound sync after joining the two files?  Or is there something I should be doing when setting the files up to be joined?  Thanks for your help.

Try Avidemux 2.6 for MP4 (h.264/aac) files.
