Hello, I'm new here and have a question about syncing video and audio. I've done my googling and experimenting with different programs and cannot seem to solve the problem.

I've bought, on vacation in the US, a digital camera (photo) with the option to film in HD. Previewing movies on the camera is giving no problems. When copied to a windows pc the playback is wrong.

The movie is playing to slow but the audio is correct. So the audiotrack ends when the movie is still playing (slightly slow). I guess it has something to do with PAL versus NTSC. The camera is set to PAL, ofcourse :-)
What I need is the right settings for Avidemux to speed up the video and leave the audio as it is. Since I have no real knowledge of the technique behind digital movies, Therefor it is trial and error for me. After many attemps in Avidemux. I've had no result. This is what I've done:
1. select the whole movie in the timeline (between thin red markers)
2. activate the Change FPS filter under Video. (tried all(?) combinations possible).
3. no changes to audio under Audio menu or in mainscreen
4. video output copy/audio output copy (because in my opinion there is no need for recalculating frames)
5. save (as .avi)
The result is a avi file which is slightly smaller (in Mb's) with audio still off sync and video still too slow. Many variaties of the above settings have been tried.

What am I doing wrong here??
I'm using 2.6 version under XP as an administrator
Thanx!

Hi.
As far as I know if you set "copy" without any recoding Avidemux don't change anything in video....
Try a recoding option.
Anyway: you didn't write which coder and container are in your movie. At least use MediaInfo or any similar tool and re-post its output.
Maybe some smarter solution is applicable, but without knowing anything on that video....
