MKV with MPEG2 (VOB) video track

Hi,

Using MKVToolNix, I've created MKV files from VOB files ripped from DVDs. So I get MKV files containing MPEG2-TS video track and one or more AC3 audio tracks. I need to slice them preserving the SRT subtitles timings and only MKVToolNix does that perfectly.

I use AVIDemux to get the right timecode for slicing so I need to properly seek/navigate within the files.

If I load the VOB file into AVIDemux 2.6.1 Windows (or r8502 Ubuntu) everything works fine as expected.

If I load the MKV file containing the very same tracks, AVIDemux scans and build the index just as the VOB file but afterwards I can't seek within the stream nor can I use up/down keys to navigate through the "Intra frames"! I get the exact same error dialogs shown in thread H264 editing on version 2.6.1

Is there a way to fix this ?

For now, I have to keep both files VOB and MKV. The first one for AVIDemux (getting proper slice timings) and the second one for the actual job in MKVToolNix, quite annoying and space wasting.
