avidemux 2.5.6.
open some video, add fadeout filter from frames 100-120.
delete first 50 frames.
filter is still set for frames 100-120.

this was quite unexpected for me, and as i already had added a bunh of fade out/in filters to a video, i pretty much have to redo it all now with doing the cuts first.
i would have expected the filter frames to be recalculated to match cut/deleted operation.

tested both with cut and delete, just in case :)

Using kind of work flow?

  • While using Copy for both Audio Output and Video Format with the same Output Format
  • Cut/trim video
  • Save project
  • Save as new video
  • Load new video
  • Set required settings for re encoding: Audio Output, Video Format and Output Format
  • Apply filters
  • Save project
  • Save New video
If something went wrong, you can load project ( step 3 or step 8 ). And take it from there. This approach would save you time to redo anything and preserve the work you already did.
My point of view and not necessary the one of the developers or other users.
