avi video crashes with 2.6.4 but not with 2.5.6

Hello,

I have a 400 MB avi video here which plays only ~5 seconds and then crashes Avidemux 2.6.4 win32 (actually it makes the process hang at 100% CPU).
But I remembered that I already worked with that video some time ago so I installed an older Avidemux 2.5.6 version and yes, it plays fine with that version.

So I assume there is a bug in the latest 2.6.X.

How can I help to fix that since I don't want to work with older Avidemux versions?

Thanks!

The difference between the 2 branches is the way editing is processed: 2.5.6 is a frame based, 2.6 is time based. Newer codecs are better supported in 2.6 branch, others in 2.5.6. I would not call that a bug.
Most of us use both versions alongside: 2.5.6 and 2.6.4 branch. If it does not work in 2.6 branch switch to 2.5.6. After some time you know when to use one or the other. If it is always the same type of video causing the 2.6.4 issue, like Standard Definition TV channels rename 2.5.6 to reflect this. Mnemonic when to use 2.5.6 instead of 2.6.4 branch. Like "avidemux 2.5.6 SD ard"

Here is the video (splitted into 2 zip parts):
http://www.file-upload.net/download-7632144/1.zip.001.html
http://www.file-upload.net/download-7632171/1.zip.002.html

I'll send you the password via PN.

Btw the video was captured with fraps, a quite popular video capture software.

I was notified by 'mean' that the issue is fixed with nightly build avidemux_r8703_win32.7z
