Ubuntu 12.10: End key gives "Seek Error seekting to 5458787 ms"

2.6.4-8707, QT but occurred in earlier builds. Ctrl-End works.

In my case I edit .mpg files produced by mythtv.

Is there a current, concise of keyboard shortcuts? I keep forgetting the shortcut for next keyframe. I also am not sure what left, ctrl-left, etc. do.
