Tools menu mystery

For the life of me I cannot find any info on this on the wiki or any other forums. Sorry if it is obvious but I thought it should at least be documented somewhere.

I have just installed Avidemux (I tried the latest 64 bit version on sourceforge as well as the latest nightly release) on my Mac OS 10.9. It runs fine, as far as I can tell, but the tools menu only shows the options 'tinypy shell' and 'spidermonkey shell'. None of the other options are there, and my only purpose for installing it was to extract a subtitles file from a DVD, according to the instructions here:  http://drm-assistant.com/dvdtips/grab-subtitles-from-dvd.html

What do I need to do to make the other tools options show? Nowhere is it stated that I have to compile the program from scratch, and besides what would be the purpose of making a package available for Mac if the tools are missing?

Hope someone is able to help!

Thank you

It's not a mystery!
You just need to DL avidemux from the 2.5 branch.
The latest/final from that branch is avidemux version 2.5.6.
