The real error is probably not there

bernd_b

I attached the whole log. Anything else I can provide/ do?

Jan Gruuthuse

@bernd_b
What OS are you building on?
Are you trying to build from a source folder to a build folder?
Are all Requirements there to build according to your hardware/used os
Have you tried your to build in current user home:
cd ~
git clone https://github.com/mean00/avidemux2.git
cd ~/avidemux2 && git pull
cd ~/avidemux2 && bash bootStrap.bash --deb --with-qt4 --without-gtk --with-cli

Jan Gruuthuse

Could you provide a copy of your terminal output, could be more clues in there.

We both have this in our terminal output:
patching file libavcodec/mpegvideo_enc.c

Hunk #2 succeeded at 562 (offset 40 lines).
Hunk #3 succeeded at 570 (offset 40 lines).

Although since your are fine with compiling, this may be nothing to worry about.

Here is my output of today's run:

The 1st error appearing: libva is disabled by mean

I See difference in ***   Release Build    ***:
"-- No packaging... (package=)"
vs
"-- Packager=deb, valid choices= {deb,rpm,tgz,none}"

Perhaps mean has a better insight into why.

bernd_b

This difference is by purpose,  I do not want to build a deb-package.
But I tried your build command as well and failed the same way.

I fear I have nothing to add so far:
makeinfo --force --no-headers -o doc/fate.txt /mnt/sda7/ffmpeg_neu/avidemux_2.6/avidemux2/buildCore/ffmpeg/source/doc/fate.texi 2 || echo "FAILED"
makeinfo: could not open doc/fate.txt for writing: No such file or directory
could not open 2: No such file or directory

O.K, another try:
changing to /mnt/sda7/ffmpeg_neu/avidemux_2.6/avidemux2/buildCore/ffmpeg/source
Now running:
makeinfo --force --no-headers -o doc/fate.txt /mnt/sda7/ffmpeg_neu/avidemux_2.6/avidemux2/buildCore/ffmpeg/source/doc/fate.texi || echo "FAILED"
So I left out the "2" before the "||.
The command runs without any messages and produces the file -o doc/fate.txt as supposed (I guess as supposed)

mean

The 2: it was a bad copy/paste
So it is ok, no idea why is it failing, everything looks good
