Hi.
Using latest avidemux_r210115_cb05_win64 loading a wmv file (output from Powerpoint 2010) is in crash (see the attachment).
Latest version able to load without crash is avidemux_r191014_21bf_win64.

Not any interest to fix this issue?  :(

This is hard to fix or even diagnose without a sample WMV file that exhibits trouble.

Not any strange input.
New powerpoint file. Add some animation. Save as wmv (it's an option). From version I've highlighted above avidemux crash (up to that release it's ok read).
Maybe having a look at reading coder changed just after that release?
Is it really needed such, let me say, "simple" file?
In attachment a reduced size file.

I'm not certain avidemux 2.6.8 is supporting Windows Media Video 9 (Microsoft proprietary video codec).
Can you choose another option?
-> MP4 Video file: .mp4, .m4v, .mov
Movie file: .mpg or .mpeg
Windows Media file: .asf
Windows Video file (Some .avi files may require additional codecs) .avi

Unfortunately I can't.
The purpose is to create a movie from powerpoint presentation, then edit it (and change codecs and containers).
Powerpoint have as output movie only that coder afaik.
avidemux_r191014_21bf_win64 is working correctly.

macduke

Ah, usual way of working in MS tools...  :(
That seems applicable to PP 2013. Unfortunately I have PP 2010 without any possibility to save a video not in wmv format.
I'll use forever avidemux_r141910_21bf_win64 when I'll need to translate PP output....  :'(
Thanks.

Please provide a sample video

confirmed is now working on ubuntu 14.04.2 lts 64-bit
sample transcoded: Booo.mkv download 45.7 kB
only available for short time

macduke

Complete transcoding using avidemux_r060415__win64Qt5 seems working.
Preview is going to crash.
But direct transcoding only is better than nothing....  :)
