What is the source of this download (dutch tv)? DVB-t (digitenne), Sat (canaldigitaal) or cable?
Sat, this should not be an issue. DVB-t could be a signal drop. Within 1/2 hour I should be able to tell something more when download is finished.
see processing sbs6 HD from sat: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avs5AvlSq4Y
if Sat what box is used?

Sorry for my delayed answer, some bad things in my personal life happened.
The recordings are from Dutch television, cable, HD channel.

- I start Avidemux
- Set it to MKV muxer
- Load the file
- Cut out all the commercials
- Save the file while ignoring it saying that corruptions could occur because cuts aren't on key frames (this happens with nearly ever file I cut, but never is a problem after all)
- Then it starts saving until it says "Errror too short"

I've already supplied logfile as well as foo.py for the above actions

IMHO
The source file has AVC video in it and is a broadcast recording (=TS with correctable errors).
So - cutting on non key frames is asking for trouble when using the cut-edit-copy process.

Do all these Dutch broadcast sources have video encoded with AVC (.h264)?
I suspect not and those recordings that work, despite the warnings, are more likely MPEG2 encoded.

IIRC this video stream is somewhat broken (unref short failure!) and not cutting on key frames probably leaves ADM pointing to a nothing frame.

All HD content by Dutch broadcasters is now  AVC (.h264)
All distributors (Cable, Satellite, ...) are provided with the same source content.

I think the download was successful this morning, i'll check that asap

mean

Ok, got the file
Could you do your editing as usual and before saving save the project & attach it to a post ?
That way i'll be able to reproduce the problem exactly
(My initial simple test with the video went ok without problem)

I've just processed the 2 files I had trouble with and both of them have gone through without any problem.
I did a check playblack check and all seems fine.
Thanks for sorting this out, great product and superb support.
Keep this up.

p.s: I have removed the large file from my Dropbox, so that link I gave is no longer valid.
