Hello. My name is Jason Nail. (HP2000laptopWindows8.0x64Home) ((Avidemux2.6.11))

Is there a way to allocate more RAM or work with Virtual Memory or pagefile size or priority or multithreading with RAMDiskCreator in Windows 8? Maybe a preference in Avidemux? I'm new to Windows 8. I'm not seeing ReadyBoost. I thought this 64 bit system could 'turn it up a notch' so to speak. I ended up giving Virtual Memory 80 gigs, but I'm only a few AV edits in and am not seeing too much difference if any. Not sure which tool(s) I need to measure that. I have RAMMap, Task Manager, and Resource Monitor on. Not sure what approach I should be taking. (or if there are any other approaches). Any suggestions?

I'm doing a 4 hour AV edit, turning an mp4 file into an mp4 file with the ntsc filter. I do other edits where I combine video and overlay audio. Every version I've tried since Win7 has been awesome. (No problems there.) ((Avidemux is great!!))

What os does Avidemux excel in? Is there a way to make it scream? (like an old silicon graphics machine on ebay or something?) Or, maybe I wnant to think about a multicore machine? Thank you very much! Jason

windows: shut down all none essential programs
clean temp directories
on system drive have at least 2.5 times the place free of the edited video size.
- use intel core i7 (I use dated (2012) Intel Core i7 3770K)
- have fast hard discs

-- test with 64-bit ubuntu 14.04.4 LTS, not virtual install, but a real install, if you have a nvidia card, like newer ones (GTX 960) supporting vdpau

That is precisely the answer I was looking for. Thank you very much! J
