Hello! I tried converting a 29GB mkv file from DTS to AAC audio, but the resulting mkv has very choppy sound and not at all like the source audio. I have not had problems with other source audio formats. If anyone can help solve my problem, please. Thank you very much.

DTS is a commercial codec. Most likely this is not supported. see reply below
Check Avidemux Menu -> Help -> Plugins -> [Audio]
If not listed in Audio Plugins, the DTS support is not there.
Use whenever possible dolby ac3 track instead of DTS.

mean

It is partially supported
Could you upload a bit of your file ?
5 sec would be enough
