Have some old videos from a Minolta Camera which produces a video with the following formats according to avidemux :

=====================================================
Video
=====================================================
Codec 4CC:      MJPG
Image Size:      320 x 240
Aspect Ratio:      1:1 (1:1)
Frame Rate:      15.000 fps
Total Duration:      00:01:00.000

=====================================================
Extra Video Properties
=====================================================
ExtraDataSize:      00

=====================================================
Audio
=====================================================
Codec:         8-bit PCM
Channels:      Mono
Bitrate:      8000 Bps / 64 kbps
Frequency:      8000 Hz
Total Duration:      00:00:59.512

I'm busy converting all my old videos to open formats/better compression, but the audio is gabled in these videos.

MP Classic plays it fine. It identifies the streams as :

Video: JPEG 320x240 15fps 1576kbps [V: English [eng] (mjpeg, yuvj422p, 320x240, 1576 kb/s)]
Audio: QT PCM 8000Hz mono 128kbps [A: English [eng] (pcm_s16be, 8000 Hz, 1 channels, s16, 128 kb/s)]

Any help would be welcome.

Using latest 2.7 Windows 64 bit version.

extract audio with audacity, save audio, and import that audio into avidemux
- Menu: Audio: Select Track: [Track 0 ...] -> [.... Add audio track]

- Latest Version of Audacity
- FFmpeg import/export library <= required
–– Allows Audacity to import and export many additional audio formats such as AC3, AMR(NB), M4A and WMA, and to import audio from video files.
Then just drag and drop on to audacity canvas
