QuickTime plays all enabled and supported audio tracks simultaneously, without providing any means to select a track. Amazing ;D

I looks strange to me that VLC gives the "Track enabled" flag in the track header (tkhd) atom prevalence over command line options. Neither mpv, mplayer nor ffplay behave like that.
I have found an old discussion at https://gstreamer-bugs.narkive.com/fBl5K3wx/bug-628790-new-osd-displays-persistent-chapters-title that may be relevant to this issue.

The bugzilla link is still alive: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=628790
Much easier to read.

Yes, thanks, that bug provides some valuable context, but it doesn't answer the question for what reason VLC doesn't allow to select disabled track on command line while supporting exactly this in the GUI.

Sorry for the late response, been TDY.  The 2.7.5 build solved the problem that I was having with a secondary audio track.  Thanks
