Hi.
I can't install avidemux in it's existant own folder as an update?
You have to first unsinstall avidemux before install, no refresh?

And i can not install avidemux in folders with "!" in it's name?
I sort my folder structure per explorer on hd with main folders like !Video, !Utis etc. and name them with "!" as first letter to get them listet at the top.

Is this "Windows malfunction" owed it's origin from linux and it's security restrictions there?

thx

The installer used to package VC++ builds doesn't support refresh in offline mode (i.e. when operating on local archives instead of downloading stuff from a remote repository), so please always uninstall first if you use a VC++ build, which is the best practice anyway.

Regarding issue with some characters in path, does it apply to the installer refusing to accept the target directory or to Avidemux not starting when avidemux.exe is located in such a directory? Have you verified the issue persists with the latest VC++ nightly?

If it does, is the latest MinGW build affected too?

There are no security or other restrictions on using "!" in directory names on Linux.
