Hi, i just updated Avidemux to 2.7.6 and now "Decoding frame type" is very slow, should i back to an old version or will be a patch soon to fix that?... Or being slow is normal and is how it should be?

Thanks in advance. Greetings.

How can this happen? We are at 2.7.8, please update, there are dozens of reasons to do so.

When loading mp4 files? There was no frame type check for H.264 streams in releases prior to 2.7.6 for mp4 (keyframe info was taken from the container, all other frames assumed to be P-frames until decoded), which became a problem as more issues in copy mode got fixed, especially with field-encoded streams in mind. If you use copy mode, please let Avidemux decode frame headers to determine frame type. If you only re-encode, you can skip this step anytime by pressing ESC.

If you refer to a different file type, please explain. Loading of mkv files should not be slower than in releases prior to 2.7.6.

It likely happens because the main download page http://fixounet.free.fr/avidemux/download.html
hasn't been updated and still points to the 2.7.6 release.

https://www.videohelp.com/software/AviDemux has the 2.7.8 links

You should force-refresh your browser cache. The homepage was updated yesterday.

Oh yes, mainly H.264 .mp4 streams from Twitch, and mostly copy mode.

Thanks a lot for the tips and the answer!

Greetings.
