So I have been working with combined video files and breaking them apart. Ill set the markers at the frame I want to cut, but it seems Avidemux goes 1.5-2 seconds prior to that marker when saving/exporting that section. Which leads to some awkward files.

Ideas?

Either cut at I-Frame or re-encode when saving.

Convert first to uncompressed and then edit and compress back down to your preference.  Yes, the causes 2 generations.  One is uncompressed so the loss is minimal.  Ideally you just ask the client for a better master.  I assume, you are not in such a situation where can ask a client for that.

Trying to edit on compressed video codec is a waste of time.  You might luck out with some edits.  On post-production services, we wouldn't even start without getting or making an uncompressed master.

Hope that helps.
