how to use avsproxy.GUI file located in avidemux directory file?

for what purpose file avsproxy.GUI is used?

according to this video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmMOBuOwmLE , avsproxy.GUI file is used to avoid greenscreen
while importing files into avidemux?  is my guess is right?
