can not open avi file due to demuxer problem

Hi

I have some recorded Avi files with  a digital camera

I cann not play them with vlc player and gom player

When I want to open them with Avidemux,  I receive the message "cannot find a demuxer for *.avi"

Is there any way to fix this issue ?

if no software can play it, it's a very bad sign.
for a start I would use Mediainfo to see what can of file it is and read forums about your camera.

Make a 5 second recording and upload it to Rapidshare or similar web service and provide a link to it.

Most recorded files are ok but I have problem with some of them

I used Mediainfo, it gives no information except the size

Try Virtualdub or an .avi demuxer.

if above did not work and latest Mediainfo (v0.7.60/1) is only showing size: most likely content inside is damaged.
