You can use Avidemux (last version) with Windows XP x64 with a simple hack:

1. Go on "dll-files" site and look for "usp10.dll" DLL file.

2. Find and download "usp10.dll" v1.626 for x64. Check carefully version and x86-x64 compatibility, this is very important, other versions of this DLL don't work.

3. Install Avidemux x64 and copy "usp10.dll" on Avidemux install folder.

Done...

Now Avidemux will work without problems in Windows XP x64.

I just register to say thank you,  i have this problem in XP x64 SP2,  and tried some usp10.dll  without luck,  until i read your post, about version 1.626

Now avidemux is working great  ;)

Hope this can be fixed in a next build to give full compatibility to XP users again :)

Hi, any plans to include this dll in the official version? or fix the need of this file?

It will be great to have a 100% functional avidemux again in XP x64

Probably not
Not sure if we can redistribute it

USP10.dll is the Uniscribe Unicode script processor and it already comes with Windows. Check your c:\windows\system32 folder and you will see that there is already a copy in there (yes, even on XP 64).

The problem is that Avidemux stopped supporting XP, so putting a copy of USP10.dll from Windows 7 won't help because there are other dependencies which will prevent it from working. If you put a copy of USP10.dll from Windows 7 in XP (and patch it to work), then you will get a problem with MSVCRT.DLL. If you fix that, there will be something else and so on.

XP users cannot use Avidemux anymore. You will have to either use an older version (assuming that the required task is compatible with an older version--the old version has the necessary features and does not have bugs that will manifest), or use something else like ffmpeg.
