Loading a WMV results in crash

Just trying to load a WMV. It doesn't seem a problem with one particular WMV, as it currently happens to all WMVs I'm trying (which is three of em). When the crash happens, it looks like attached 1.PNG.

Then a generic runtime error termination message. And then a "Avidemux.exe stopped working" message from Windows.

Then, when I restart Avidemux, and select Yes on the "crash file" question, this happens as well - see attached 2.PNG.

This is Avidemux 2.6.12 final/stable/release. Windows 10 fully up-to-date.
I've also tried the latest nightly, but it's too wonky to even start properly.

Try with .exe win32 or win64 (matching your OS) from here: http://www.avidemux.org/nightly/ dated: Aug 6 2016.

So that's not an option really...
