Overwrite an existing file behaviour

I'm using 2.6.12 nightly 160713 under Windows.

When I Save over an existing file it maintains the original date. The reason I usually overwrite an existing file is because I'm unhappy with my first try. But when I sort the files in the output location by descending date, I can't tell by looking at the datetime whether I've reprocessed the file(s) yet.

Would it be possible under Preferences | Output to include a tick box to use the current datetime when overwriting an existing file?

Or could a extra option be offered when the overwrite warning msg appears?

Thanks, Dan.

Do you mean the creation or the modification date? The creation date should not change, the modification date must change.

Thanks for reminding me.

Win 10 is offering 3 dates to use in the column display: Date, Date Created, Date Modified.

But looking at the properties of a file, they are showing: Date Created, Date Modified, Date Accessed.

I'll change my directory display to switch from showing the default "Date" to "Date Modified".
