in 64-bit Ubuntu
16.04.1 re-coding with Nvenc X264 the end result is fine.
14.04.5 re-coding with Nvenc X264 the video displays plenty of distortions (blocks, signal missing)

Used settings:
Video Decoder shows VDPAU VDPAU
Video Output: Nvidia H264
Audio Output: Copy
Output Format: MKV Muxer

Please update the NVIDIA driver to 375.xx and try again.

Nividia binary driver 375.xx is not showing in Additional Drivers for 14.04.5. 367.57 is and will try this one instead of 361.93.02. And report back.
