You do run avidemux 64-bit or 32-bit version?

QuoteThe ntdll.dll file is a file created by Microsoft that has a description of "Layer DLL" and is the file that contains kernel functions. This file is located in the c:\windows\system32.
Please follow the methods to fix the issue with the corrupted files in the computer and find the cause of the issue.

Method 1: Run SFC scan in the computer
Use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833

Method 2: I would suggest to re-register the .dll:

  • Click on Start, then Run.
  • Now all you have to do to register a DLL file is to type in the regsvr32 command, followed by the path of the DLL file. : regsvr32 C:\Windows\System32\ ntdll.dll

Do let us know if you have any other queries pertaining to Windows in the future. We will be happy to help. We, at Microsoft strive towards excellence and provide our customers with the best support.

If this did not help, post back and see if developers can possibly help further?
More details would be needed:
- used hardware: cpu, memory, ...
- used video: container, codecs for video and audio
- location of video: local harddisc, usb device, network
- ....

Yes, I'm using Avidemux 2.7.0 Releasy  64bit.
Windows 7 64bit too.

sfc /scannow
.......................
Resource protection Windows did not detect any integrity violations

Hardware
CPU: Intel i3
RAM: 4 GB

Video
Codec: H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (avc1)
Resolution file: 1920x1090
Resolution display: 1920x1080
FPS: 30

Audio:
Codec:  PCM S16 LE (soft)
Mode: Mono. 32000 Hz. 16 bit.

I'm only Haddisk.

PS. VirtualDub works with this video without problems. But I want to use Avidemux, I like it more  :)

- Laptop / Desktop ?
- Video Container (.avi, mp4, ...)?
- File size of Video? you need at least 2.5 times this size free on your computer

- Had you previously installed version of avidemux?

try deleting these: related Avidemux files: config2,  config3
see if 32-bit does work.

PS. VirtualDub works with this video without problems.

Is it just a particular video or all videos? If the former, please provide a sample if possible. If the latter, try the latest nightly. If the nightly also crashes with all videos, something is wrong with your system.

In any case, please disable video decoding via DXVA2 in Avidemux settings.

YPetr

My computer is not to blame. Avidemux also crumbles on other computers.
Avidemux is very afraid of long  presses on the keys <RIGHT>, and especially - <LEFT>

I offer you examples of videos with which problems arise -

http://www.rapidshare.com.cn/WEvtMfS

Try to open these files in Avidemux, and then long press the <RIGHT> key, then <LEFT>.
And you will make sure that Avidemux quickly collapses -

On other computers? All with Russian Cyrillic keyboard / Windows 7 Language in Russian Cyrillic?
Just asked if this cannot be reproduced on non Russian Cyrillic Windows 7.
Have you access to windows computer with English OS? does same happen there?

Tested with video 9 GB video, nothing special did happen, minutes left key press, video kept rolling back.

Both videos don't cause this crash on Ubuntu 16.04.3 64-bit. With or without hardware acceleration enabled.
Tested with: Avidemux v2.7.0 (170910_324b13ddd6a)

Since Jan asked - I will try it out on a "English" configured windows 7 OS.

Currently I also have several movies that cause problems for the latest nightly (with or without DXVA2).
Eg:
audio fails to initialize with A_DTS 6 channel 24bit 1.5Mb/s audio track.
ADM crashes with some MP4 videos.

None of these issues (mine or the OP!) warrants killer statements like "avidemux crumbles" or "avidemux unworkable".
I no longer respond to posters that characterise issues in that manner.

AQUAR

Tried it on the "avidemux-crash.mkv" using the latest nightly.

No crash on my machine no matter how much I iterate and hold on.
Note: that sample video has no key frame for almost the last 1 minute.

YPetr

Yes, on all other different computers the same destruction.
Unfortunately, I do not have the English OS. I can still try Windows 32 bit and Avidemux 32 bit.

But I've presented you with a proof that perfectly illustrates how Avidemux is being destroyed.
And it happens very quickly every time you press on LEFT for a long time:

Jan Gruuthuse

This could still be an Russian Cyrillic Windows issue, or something more specific local.

YPetr

In the case VirtualDub of no there is such problem.
So you need to rework Avidemuh for the Russian locale.

Jan Gruuthuse

Sadly I'm not a developer. It is a limited operation (man power).
