Good evening,

I'm a beginner and I want to create a very simple video with a photo as a single frame with an audio lasting some minutes. I actually succeeded at the first attempt at creating a video, now I'm trying to create another video of this kind but I can't do it. How many times do I have to copy and paste the frame to match the duration of the audio track without have to press Crtl+V continously and crash the software?

I'm using Avidemux 2.8.1 on Ubuntu 22.04.

You simply don't. Please choose and configure video encoder, then load the picture, then add "still image" video filter configured for desired duration, then save the result. Now close the "video" / the picture in Avidemux, load the result exported at the previous step, choose "Copy" instead of a video encoder, add the audio file as an external audio track (select and configure audio encoder if needed), save the final result.
