Hi, after using nvidia cards for ages now, I finally switched sides as I got a very good deal on a 9070XT, super happy about the performance in games, but then I noticed there was no AMD rendering option.. I've been using 2.8.2 r241212 build until now, and I just downloaded the most recent 20260516 build to see if that had it, but no :(
Is this never coming to avidemux?

On Linux with X11, hw accelerated video encoding via VA-API / libva was available with all graphics cards supporting this interface, i.e. AMD and Intel. Unfortunately, with the switch of all major desktop environments and thus Linux distributions to Wayland this is the thing of the past. NVIDIA with NVENC and all other goodies still works fine via XWayland, but not the libva stuff (Avidemux natively on Wayland is even more limited).

On Windows: no assessment done yet, much less work started. "Never" may be incorrect, but "not this year" is more than likely.
