Title: Cropping bug
Post by: thany on August 18, 2013, 01:44:00 AM
I just used the crop filter to crop away some black borders on the sides. In the cropping tools, everything was well cropped and no black borders remained. But when I clicked on the preview button in the filters dialog, it still showed a black border on the right side. So which of the two is showing me the truth?

Using 2.6.4 build 8874.
Input resolution is 720x396. L/R/T/B croppings are 6/4/2/0.

It happens when the wide is not mod16 (you have 396). But its only in preview, the cropping tool works correct and your file will have no borders.
However, you should resize if you want to encode in xvid.

You are right, the enocde went perfectly fine. I'm encoding to x264 in MKV, so no mod16 problems.

Despite all that, is this a bug that should be addressed? Because I know for sure I set the output codec and container before going into filters. The cropping filter could theoretically have known that the mod16 thing wasn't going to be an issue...
