dd sample cutting works correctly only for (M2)TS streams and elementary streams. With many other formats the index usually gets broken if binary cutting is used.

Virtualdub is one tool you can use for AVI cutting, and it should run fine with Wine.
I am away between 15th of May - 15th of June. (yes, I am playing D3)

That did work, however content was changed by virtualdub?

I'm now uploading a 30 frame cut: will take another 20 minutes: size 186.63 MB each. Links to follow soon.

mean

To make sure i got it right :
It only happens if you append several files THEN load something else ?

Jan Gruuthuse

No this is a different issue= AVI (RGBA,RGB). Load this (uncompressed avi?) Image is on it's head, when pressing play crash happens. Even with a small file

The video is no longer crashing when pressing play. Video is processing in avidemux.
Avidemux player displays video upside down and the re-encoded has the video also turned upside down. 1st attachment: original, 2nd attachment upside down  processed and showing in avidemux.
