I have just heard about AvxSynth, the linux port of AviSynth.

Im using Avidemux on linux for my video conversion tasks and Im wondering what is the real advantage of using a frame server in the middle.
Its said to be make the convertion/encoding process faster.
Is that true, or rather does it really speed up the process significantly?

Does Avidemux use or support the AvxSynth ?

Thanks...

The main advantage is whatever new filter / reader/... avxsynth got, you got it for free in avidemux.
I had a quick look, it does not seem to support both audio and video at the same time (frameserver on or the other)
which is a problem
Else i guess glueing it to avsproxy should not be too hard

So, there is no speed & performance gain (at least not significant) by using a frame server (doesnt matter which one it is) ?
