Hello

Using my Sony HD camcorder, I shot a video in Standard mode (MPEG-1/2 (mpgv) 720x576 50fps + A52 (AC3, a52) 48KHz) instead of HD mode so as to get smaller files.

After editing the MPG file in AviDemux, I chose "Video Output = copy", "Audio Output = copy", and figured I should use "Output Format = Mpeg-PS Muxer (ff)".

According to MediaInfo, the MPG file is "Container = MPEG-PS". Did I choose the right container as output, or should I use something else?

Thank you.

As your source is a camcorder (which produces video with less bit error rate) your selected output format is suitable.

Thank you. I'll google to find if the other containers available offer better features.

Your Choice to save "mpgv" codec to MPEG-PS container is recommended  ;) . this will help you to play the file in almost any device (ex:- DVD players , TVs , Blu-ray Player & PC  :D )

but if you choose AVI or MKV containers also its fine & the file size may be reduced greatly due to overhead bits of MPEG-PS container  :D .

But you may not be able to play the file in older DVD players  :( .
but of course file is playable in TVs, Blu-ray Player & PC  :D  .
