Maybe check your audio remix setting - as the output audio has just one channel.
Its just a thought!

is there audio with vlc ?

Very good question.

I downloaded the latest version of VLC for Windows 64-bit, installed and launched it.

I opened the same media file and there was NO audio. All I heard were high-pitched squeaks here and there. The media file is a recording of a TV program broadcast in DVB-T2.

Why is MPC-HC player able to playback both the video and audio without problems?

Edited post: The media file referred to above is the source file, that is, xyz.ts not the converted mp4 file.

Provide a 10 seconds in duration of such a recording, perhaps developer(s) can do something with it.
ps:- Use a free dropbox account, mega or similar webservice (free public access, without registration to download your uploaded video) thank you.

If you look at the Mediainfo stats, it suggests that the recoded audio channels have just 1 track with a stream size of 1.41KB (ie < .0001% of total file size).
If it's really that small I wonder how come MPHC can playback the audio just fine.

Something is wrong for sure (missing signalling tables in the TS ?).

Are you referring to the original media file, xyz.ts?

You might have misunderstood what I wrote in my earlier post and I've edited it to clarify things.

The MPC-HC player was able to play the original media file, xyz.ts, without problems. After converting it to mp4 format using Avidemux, the video quality is good but there is no audio when played back using MPC-HC player.

What is strange is that I used TEncoder Video Converter, http://sourceforge.net/projects/tencoder/, to convert the original media file, xyz.ts, to mp4 format. There is pixelation in the converted mp4 file but the audio is fine when the converted mp4 file was played back using MPC-HC player.

Guys,

I have uploaded a very short clip of the original, that is, source file to http://www94.zippyshare.com/v/kCvd6clP/file.html

The software used to clip the original file is Avidemux for Windows (latest version) and the following options were selected:

Video Decoder: Lavcodec RGB

Video output: Copy

Audio Output (2 tracks): Copy

Shift: None

Output Format: MPEG TS (muxer), VBR muxing

Please let me know if you need further details.

The software used to clip the original file is Avidemux for Windows (latest version) and the following options were selected:
No: it is processed video with avidemux
Please provide a 10 seconds original recording: please make a new recording 10 seconds to max 1 minute. Don't process that recording and forward it like it is.
