Hi,

Can we expect time stamps* added to the "AddLogo" filter?

-- of course in order to set any duration, AND TIME, to whatever image layed onto the video: title, but also end credits, etc., all in one settings window.

-------- Edit Dec. 14th 2017 - Don't let the first part of my (Sept. 6th, 2017) post -- above -- get me wrong. At the time, stupidely "enough", I hadn't noticed the "make partial" option... Please concentrate :) on this (below), instead : --------

Plus "while we're at it", a fade to transparent (appear / disappear) option, i.e. providing the usual / basic but pro. titling effect.

-------- Edit Dec. 14th 2017 -  ... AND... on this, may be : http://avidemux.org/smif/index.php/topic,18140.0.html about which I know (I sure KNOW) that, if it's not relevant or possible YET, well... why not by Xmas 2025 or 2030 (life ain't so short, after all...). --------

[ Please note that I'm not (even) asking for a moving path titling or logo. option. :) ]

[ * A well prepared ".ssa/.ass" subtitle file will do, I know,

but then, somewhat a difficult process to explain to both my lil'sis' + grandma Avidemux fans (can't stop them filming the cat + everything)... "But who needs to title cat clips now?" · "What?! You BET I wanna!".

Blame it on the smartphone craze... On the other hand, that also includes e.g. very good street musicians clips! Can't deny. ]

This one might be within reach for the logo filter (but not a priority), the remaining feature requests likely not. You could tremendously speed up the development by contributing code.

Hi / thanks for the answer.

Please believe that, since I'm quite a heavy user of Avidemux (several Win. versions), I'd be VERY happy to contribute if... I only could!

Unfortunately, I'm more than unable to program anything -- besides the simplest "Win. CMD line (.bat) batches", that I can only modify...

Hello to everyone,

i totally agree with hiro  ;)   specially the transparency part  ( Opacity ---> the ability to choose from 0 to 100% ) , and the ability to add a second Logo on the same video (Multi Logo Add option)

if you guys added these, Avidemux will be the most  amazing basic software for simple video editing work.

Level of transparency can be set with Alpha [255] - 0, if no transparency is detected in the png logo

Please apply 2 times logo filter :

used mtv logo.png twice in this case.

Avidemux-Fan2

Thank you sir for your reply.
Multi add logo was always possible and i never knew it (i feel dumb right now).
but the transparency or opacity which is Alpha [255] doesn't work, it seems deactivated i even added the png logo 3 times (screenshot attached).

If the png contains transparency (alpha channel, I believe) then the setting is disabled.
If you want alpha to work on complete logo: convert logo.png to logo.jpg ;) then this should work.
png can contain alpha channel, jpg not.
ps.: notice black background in mtv.jpg

@Jan Gruuthuse, but i don't want the black or white background or any other background color of the logo on the video, my png logo has transparency only on the background and that's what png for don't you think so !! i think Alpha channel in Avidemux has to be more opened to png logos because as you know png logos doesn't have background but only the main symbol.

Hi,

Using Avidemux ".ssa/.ass" subs compatibility, here's a fade in/out example, applied to TITLING -- i.e. text only: no .png or whatever USUAL picture format...

... incl. a test anim. VECTOR image: no bitmap either (embedding bitmaps to ".ass" files hardly ever works).

Now: not only it won't accept simple bitmaps, it's just... somehow NOT realistic:

as mentioned above (initial post), although typing their own title to replace my example text & removing the last line to cancel animation is simple, most beginners -- plus intermediate users as well, in fact -- do need way more "intuitive / wysiwyg" commands...

[coreImage, addLogo] Allow to reduce opacity of logo images containing alpha channel. This prepares future work on fade-in/out feature for logos.

Hi,

Works perfectly (for me anyway). Thanks!

---- note · The title of this post, which reflects a mistake I made (wasn't even aware of "make partial" option!..), does NOT reflect the good work it mentions or contains.

Should be something like "Fade in/out overlaid bitmap: title, logo., etc. / PNG transparency supported". But can't be modified, I guess?.. ----

That's what i'm talking about, hopefully fixed and finished to be included in the next update very soon.
Also if you guys can work on animated titles or logos ; i mean make a title or a logo move around in the video.
Am I using the right version of Avidemux 2.7.0 ? i mean should i downgrade to the stable version !? if true, which one ?
Thanks.
