2.8.0 Linux Crash (related to libADM?)

I've been running AviDemux 2.8.0 happily for some time, installed via ppa:ubuntuhandbook1/avidemux.  Running on KDE Neon 5.24, kernel 5.14.21-051421-generic.

Recently, I cloned my system to new hardware (so everything software-wise is identical: same OS, same kernel, same libs installed, etc. An exact photocopy). However, now avidemux crashes immediately on start.

If I launch via terminal, the crashing machine shows:

Any idea why the exact same setup would be working on one PC but crashing on another - and how I could rectify?  I know I could probably workaround this by using the appimage, but would prefer to get it working directly, if possible.

I've committed the patch, future builds should not crash on startup anymore.

A 2.8.1 nightly build containing the tentative fix is now available, please try build 220605 or a more recent one from https://avidemux.org/nightly/appImage4Buster/ and report back.

Thanks for your super quick response - yup, looks like that indeed works!  Now just to wait for it to hit the PPA repo :) :)

Instead of passively waiting, please report the issue to the PPA maintainer and ask for inclusion of the upstream patch.

Thank you.
