Join AVI-files and automatically add chapters?

Hello,

I'm a great fan of AviDemux.
Is there any automatism to join AVI-files inside a folder in alphabetical order (this is easy with AviDemux) but also to automatically add a chapter mark after each AVI so when saving the resulting video into a mkv-Container I have a chapter at the beginning of every AVI joined?

Thanks an lot for your tool and maybe someone can help me out.

Chapters are not supported, the functionality is high on the nice-to-have list, patches welcome.
