r8494, Windows, sound messed up

I installed the latest Windows build (r8494), and it still crashes when I close a file.  Worse, the sound is totally messed up.  And these files have plain PCM sound!

Try current r8524

Since 8524 is no longer available, and there is a post warning about not upgrading after the nightly for the 13th, I tried r8542 which is still present for downloading.

It won't run at all.  When I try, I can see in Process Explorer that it actually momentarily causes WerFault.exe to run, which I take it is a crash.

r8561 (64-bit) was able to run.
Sound is still messed up.

You might want to try 8578 in a separate folder
