I'm using a DVD recorder and  I use Avidemux 2.5 for converting the files to .avi. Most of the time there is no problem. With some of the files, however the audio sounds like you are playing an old 45 single at speed 33 : much to slow. If you extract only the audio, it ends abruptely : With a 30 minute video, at least 3 to 5 minutes audio are missing. It's noy delayed it's simply to slow.
I noticed one thing that was strange : Most of the vob files had a frequency of 48000 hz, these "slow audio" files had a frequency of 44100. Re-sampling didn't work.

I didn't find any solution so far. Can anyone help me.

I prefer version 2.5 over 2.6 because of it's editing facilities

2.6 has the advantage you can add/replace audio track
Extract audio track:
- drag and drop Source video on audacity (windows requires audacity FFmpeg import/export library, found on Optional Downloads)
- export audio in required audio format
- load the newly saved video (avidemux 2.5) in avidemux 2.6
- Avidemux menu: Audio: Select Track: Audio Tracks Configuration:
-- Track 1 [v] Enabled [Track ..... ] <- Select in drop down menu ..... Add audio track
-- browse and select the audacity exported audio file.

you could have Avidemux 2.5 and 2.6 installed alongside.
