I've been using avidemux for a long time.
Updated to the latest version, I can not move the slider anymore (h264, h263 file).
I read this information: http://avidemux.org/smif/index.php?topic=16563.0 but I don't  understand, sorry.

Latest Version? That is vague. Try one of these: http://www.avidemux.org/nightly/
Try up down keyboard arrow?
Left click hold mouse on slider knob [] move mouse left or right.
Delete old .idx2 files where you load video.
....

riji

Thanks,
I downloaded the latest night file for OS X: Avidemux2.6_r2016_03_04_856fc8ae1ec.dmg
Still the same issue.
I can move within the video as usual, but I can't move the slider.
I made a screen recording, but it's 900 KB and too large.

You could upload to a (free) webservice.

Sorry, I'm not on OSx. So i have no idea what you could do or why it is not working? Perhaps the vevelopers(s) or other OSx users might have a clue.

ps:- Use a free dropbox account, mega or similar webservice (free public access, without registration to download your uploaded video) thank you.

Probably dumb questions:
The inability to move the slider is true with all video's compressed with .h264/3?
Or is it more specific, like loading media with say AVC in AVI?

The kind of codec makes no difference (h263, h264, mts, mpeg, mp4....).
It's just that I can't move the the slider; I can use the UP-DOWN key and the mouse as usual, but the round itself  does not move at all so I don't know where I am...
( I'm using a 5k Mac)

Jan Gruuthuse

Round? Are you referring to Jog?

QuoteJog/shuttle, fast-forward or rewind by turning the wheel, speed depends on how far it is turned; keyframe based navigation
Mouse left click hold on jog and move to left or right.
more info: http://www.avidemux.org/admWiki/doku.php?id=using:main_window_-_qt_version

riji

No, not the jog/shuttle (I never used it).

I don't understand your definition of round in relation to QT graphics user interface?

perhaps this image makes it clearer;
I can't move this round (button) within the navigation bar

QuoteLeft click hold mouse on slider knob [] , move mouse left or right.

This happens with all of your videos or just some?

Check/Change settings in Menu -> Edit -> Preferences: [Display]
[v] Limit Refresh Rate
Refresh Rate Cap (ms) [20 ]

Otherwise must be a specific OS x issue, this is working in Linux and Windows.

ALL videos

Changed from 100 -> 20: no solution.

I will have to go back to version 2.6.10...

It seems indeed a specific OS X problem.
Compare preferences display options between
version 2.6.10 (Avidemux_2.6.10_64bits_Qt4) = OK
and version 2.6.12 (Avidemux2.6_r2016_03_04_856fc8ae1ec; also with 2.6.11) without Mac OS X Quartz 2D = my problem.

I'm new on this forum: can I solve this problem by myself or where should I ask for a fix??

I just tried on my MountainLion VM, it seems to work fine
Does the timestamp change when you move the slider ?

Maybe it's an OS X EL Capitan issue?
